  1. 1st Radio Rookie:
    1. What is your opinion of her Radio Rookie piece and why?
Her Radio Rookie piece was so sad. Overall, the story was clear and easy to understand. There’s nothing else that needs to be clarified for me.
    2. What did you learn from her story?
I learned that she was expected to do so many things, while she really can’t do it. She had to fulfill every single expectation for different people. She got really emotional and sad.
    3. What questions do you have for her?
One question that I have is what are you going to do if your whole family are going back to Mexico?

    2nd Radio Rookie
    1. What is your opinion of her Radio Rookie piece and why?
This Radio Rookie piece was great and really exciting to listen to. They have a very cheerful tone in this piece and makes people aware and open their thoughts.
    2. What did you learn from their story?
From their story, I learned that there used to be a conflict between the specific group of Jews people and black people. They might not be a good partner back then, but they can live in peace and harmony right now. Forgetting the conflict that happen in the past.
    3. What does this story teach us about stereotypes and prejudice?
Stereotypes are not always true. It might be generalized as what we think to be, but again, we should be able to tolerate something that’s different. Stereotypes is not the right way and we should be able to just value a person based on that person itself and not from the stereotypes.

  2. 1 I feel really sad for her because she obviously did not have any choice of being what she want to be. The thing that touched me the most was that she cared too much about her family. When I heard her telling her story , it sounds like she doesn’t have a future in the United States. Her thought was somewhere else.

    2. What I learned from her story was that we have to take profit of the opportunities that has been given to us. Some of us are here luckily such as having a visa or being a United States citizens so they don’t care much about those things but it is really important to take those opportunities. They will lead us to t.he way (or our career) that we always dreamed of having or wanted .

    3. My question for her is that is she in college now or she went back to Mexico with her parents and sister?

  3. "Half of my Family is Illegal"

    1) I think it is powerful because it is a true story and how hard is for her. I feel very sad because I know how she feels because part of my family is illegal too. Also it is amazing to hear how she care her family.
    2. I learn a lot from her story about having to deal with her family problems. Also it seems she is very proud to have a family and she want to keep going. One important thing that was the most important is the opportunity that we have in this country.
    3. How you feel when someone ask you about your family?
How I can help some of my relatives about their illegal situation?

  4. 1. What is your opinion of her Radio Rookie piece and why?
I think that her piece is very touching and personal. Is not always easy telling the world what’s happening in your personal life. Also it takes a lot of courage to stick up for who you are, and to talk about this very sensible topic with your parents.

    2. What did you learn from her story?
I learned that is not easy being “The chosen one” and that I can be really hard at times to be perfect, because on your parents eyes they will want you to be the perfect one because you are the one that has more opportunities.

    3. What questions do you have for her?
Will you try to stop your parents from going to Mexico and try to convince them that you’ll give them the legal papers? and after that they can go to Mexico and come back ( god forgives) if something goes on in Mexico.

  5. 1. What is your opinion of her Radio Rookie piece and why?

Even though your parents want to go back to your own country, you couldn’t give up your dream. Life is your, not your parents. You have to fight for yourself.

    2. What did you learn from her story?

People who is illegal immigration, they are always get more pressure than people who is legal immigration.

    3. What questions do you have for her?

Do you want to go back to your country with your family ?
Do you ever tell your parents about your ideas or opinion.

  7. 1. What is your opinion of her Radio Rookie piece and why?
I found her story interesting and fascinating , because of the complicated situation she is going through. It’s interesting to analyze how immigration is a complicated issue, especially when it involves the kids of immigrants who were born in the U.S. Also, the story made me think on the position of her parents that decided to came here, made their kids through so many struggles, and now they are planning to go back to Mexico. I wonder if they don’t realize that their return can have an even bigger impact on their children’s lives.

    2. What did you learn from her story?
I learned to see an immigration issue from a different perspective, which, in this case, is the perspective of a teenager who was born in the U.S. coming from an immigrant family.

    3. What questions do you have for her?
How many times have you been Mexico?
If your family goes back, what will you do?

    2. I learned that they are not afraid and that they keep going no matter what they have to deal with and what kind of issues they have. Thats the way to live I think, we just need to keep moving on.

  13. 1 RADIO ROOKIE
I think that it is very sad that her family is scared of the government because they it limits their access for jobs and other things that they can’t get
I learned that many families try to go back to their countries because of the difficulties here.
What would you do in Mexico if your family goes back?
    2 RADIO ROOKIE
I think that this is very interesting because it opens your mind to think about other people.
I learned that stereotypes influence people and make them reluctant to interact with them.
It teaches us that stereotypes are negative and that people are guided by them.

    2. What did you learn from her story?

  15. 1. What is your opinion of her Radio Rookie piece and why?

It's quite a sad feeling. The situation the family must pass, what kind of things people might say to them based upon their immigration status. Also what kind of frustration she might go through, something like, is she going to be with her parents tomorrow? They can deport them anytime. A feeling of running away from your own government because they might take your family away.

    2. What did you learn from their story?
The way she can handle those problems, situations and perhaps humiliations due to her family. She is the only one capable of rising her family since she is the only one with legal power here.

    3. What questions do you have for her?
Is it possible to persuade them to stay in the country for a little longer, at least 4 years until you are able to give your family a legal status?

    1. It is great to hear teenegers opinions about stereotypes. I like how they give their point of view and how they want to know the history of the place.
    2. I learn that in the past there were conflict between Jews and Black people. But it now they live in peace. Also how we don't have to judge or say bad things about different cultures.
    3. This story teach me that we don't have to believe stereotypes. Also it is important to respect and know that stereotypes is bad and we should not say it to anyone. We live in a country where everyone had to tolerate how we are, and respect each other.
