Week of November 9, Writing for a Cause

Hi everyone,

This week you will be making cards for senior citizens who have no family to share Thanksgiving.

Please go to this website to learn more about the project.

Then create your card following the instructions and bring it to school next week.

Please follow these simple guidelines:
  • Greeting: "Dear Friend" or "Dear Senior."
  • Introduce yourself, but leave out last names.
  • Write about your families and holiday traditions.
  • Write about your favorite subject, book, sport or activity.
  • Remind the seniors to enjoy the delicious meal and let them know that they are not alone.
  • Please include a bright, colorful illustration.
  • Keep it brief and sweet.
  • Make sure the writing is legible!
  • Seniors have an easier time reading larger print on light backgrounds!
  • Get creative and have fun!

Thank you and have fun!!
