  1. 1- I feel that the work that Mr.Scott Douglas is doing for the illegal community in Alabama. He is putting his effort and dedication to make this new law stop. Like he said “We don’t need 50 different immigration laws around the country, we need one that works for everybody” What he said is true, and more people should be like him

2- Yes, I agree with what he said, if one person is in trouble, then more people will be too because we are all a community and we all suffer if another person suffers.

3- I totally agree with what Mr. Douglas said, this new law diminishes the Hispanic community, because now they have to be all hidden and with fear.

4- This issue is connected with us because even though our school is not in Alabama, we are still a school of new immigrants to the country and we feel sad, and very angry to hear that this is happening to other immigrants just like us.

    5- N/A

  4. I don’t feel good I think it is not fair with all of the immigrants, they also need an opportunity, they don’t come to USA just because they want, it is because they have to find a way to survive, because they cannot do it in their countries.
In some ways I agree, because we are just one community and everything affect all of us, but in some way it is not fear to push out those who have a life already in this country.
Yes, because almost all the immigrants are Hispanics.
It is connect to our class because when this law was first passed all of us wrote letters to give support to those immigrants, and also to our school because we are all immigrants.
I just think that this should not happen, what will happen in this state in that law is passed? It will be a big disaster, and sadness will be spread.

  5. I learned how to have more integrity, because we worked in groups a lot. One activity that I liked a lot, was to see my body, I was so excited writing letters to her, and finally I got to meet her.
I did not enjoy making the last poster, because I felt we were doing the same thing many times about the respect rules.
Yes, now I am not afraid to help others, or to stop the bullying when it is happening in front of me, although I don’t know who is being abuse.
I will like to work more in the media film, not just the editors focus on it. Because we can also, learn something new and contribute with our ideas to make the video better.
Bring our buddies at least one day per month.
If we don’t do this just in the class hours, but also spread our ideas to others that are not in our class, in that way the people that are around us can have knowledge of what respect is.
"From this class, one thing I will take is my buddy to know more about her wonderful thoughts and one thing I will give is the respect that I learned I should have towards everyone ."

  6. 1.How do you feel about the work Scott Douglas is doing?
I am really proud of this man because he is one of many persons who is giving support to all the immigrant people in Alabama, he knows how is the suffering of this people in that state and hopefully there could be more persons like him.
2.He says that if one person is in trouble, all people are in trouble. Do you agree? Why?
Yes, I agree because we are all equal and have the same rights, the act of one counts as an act of all the society, so if one of us is in trouble, everyone is in trouble too.
3.He says this law diminishes the humanity of Hispanics in Alabama. Do you agree?
Yes, I totally agree, because Americans are treating us like inferior people, they think that we shouldn’t be here and that we are stealing their jobs, but they don’t remember that this country was made of immigrants like us and like all the people Hispanic in Alabama.
4.How is this issue connected to our class and our school?
It shows clearly that there is discrimination and hate in that state for part of Americans against Hispanic people, that’s the principal connection. Also we can see the same example in our school especially in the lunch when the young people got into groups of the same culture or country like Colombians, Ecuadorians, Chinese, etc.
    5.Questions/comments?
I am really proud of Scott Douglas and I think people like him should get together and help because if we get united we can be stronger and nothing will stop us.

  8. Interview with Scott Douglas

I was confuse thinking about which side he’s in. Finally, I feel good about what he did. He brought up the blind side which people never really talk about. He used sarcasm to talk with the other guy. That is somewhat true, depends on what the problem is, but in this case, it’s true because it will affect business, companies, the state government, the economy, etc. Yes, this law diminishes everybody’ humanity rights. It’s too cruel!

    ================================================

    1. I enjoyed doing activities in class, anything in class basically.

    2. Editing on the media center since the material qualities that being presented to be edited are too poor.

    3. I don’t think so, I have this class for the second time now, so I’ve changed enough (that’s what I believe).

    4. Nope

    5. More outside activities.

    6. Do more stuff and community service.

    7. Fill in the blanks..."From this class, one thing I will take is _the family feeling_ and one thing I will give is _my time and my willingness to do things_."

He says that if one person is in trouble, all people are in trouble. Do you agree? Why?

well.. in some causes is true, as we can see they take an idea that all Hispanic people dont like to study and do their hw. Of course this is not true because not everybody is the same.

He says this law diminishes the humanity of Hispanics in Alabama. Do you agree?

yes, they wanted freedom and now they are facing the same problem as they had in their countries.
