Dear Alabama Dreamers for the Future,

My name is Christian and I'm a student at Newcomers High School in Queens, NY. I'm an immigrant from Indonesia and I've been in this country for 2 years. I'm writing to show you support during this difficult time.

When I found out about the Alabama Law HB 56, the “toughest immigration law in the country", I felt disrespected. How can we possibly carry our birth certificate or immigration papers wherever we go to? In addition, as an immigrant student, I believe this law is unfair because that law does not follow the constitution, it does not give any “non-American” people privacy. If they are criminal, then the state government have the rights to check their status. So far as I could tell, this law is ridiculous and should be repealed. Ministers in Alabama even quoted “In the Old Testament, God reminds the people, “You shall not wrong or oppress a resident alien, for you were aliens in the land of Egypt (Exodus 22:21).” Jesus told parables about people like the Good Samaritan – someone who was not considered a true Jewish citizen – stopping to help a battered and beaten man while the leaders of the people passed him by. And the apostle Paul taught us that in Christ there is “no longer Jew or Greek, slave or free, male or female, but all are one in Christ Jesus (Galatians 3:28).” - in (http://willimon.blogspot.com/2011/06/open-letter.html)” I'm here in this country to contribute in the following ways: to get education, helping to improve the economy, and also providing help for my community. I’m not here to steal people’s money, I’m here to contribute myself to improve it more and more. My hopes and dreams are to live peacefully in this country without hate.

My wishes for you are be strong and good luck. I hope you all are okay,
It is my hope that your government will repeal this law now and that you can live a safe, secure and successful life.
    Thank you,

    Sincerely,
    Christian

My name is Anamaria Amaya and I'm a student at Newcomers High School in Queens, NY. I'm an immigrant from Colombia and I've been in this country for 2 years. I'm writing to show you support during this difficult time.

When I found out about the Alabama Law HB 56, the “toughest immigration law in the country", I felt mad and disappointed. In addition, as an immigrant student, I believe this law is unfair because we all deserve the right of education, and it is unfair that kids need to show their documents just for look as an immigrants. They’re kids, they deserve tranquility and peace, people who come to this country is because they want a better life, they want to progress and do everything right. I'm here in this country to contribute in the following ways, make an organization about immigrants, talk about what’s happening and what’s going to happen, protest and fight for our rights and write letters to the government, telling them that this is an unfair law for everybody. My hopes and dreams are to create peace, tranquility and union between everybody, I do not want more discrimination to people, just for being immigrant, we all can make a better America.

My wishes for you are that you could win this battle against the government in Alabama and the kids can get the same education as everybody because we are equal and we deserve it.

My name is John Gonzalez and I'm a student at Newcomers High School in Queens, NY. I'm an immigrant from Ecuador and I've been in this country for 3 years. I'm writing to show you support during this difficult time.

When I found out about the Alabama Law HB 56, the “toughest immigration law in the country", I felt very angry, disappointed and upset. In addition, as an immigrant student, I believe this law is unfair because this is all about discrimination! When I heard that many kids were not going to the school just for their immigrant status I got very sad, its something ridiculous that people come to this country looking for freedom and a better life but that those kids cant have a good education? whats wrong with this people who approved this law? I hope that they could reflection about this problem and could see that nobody is getting benefits from this law.

I'm here in this country to contribute in the following ways. Make meetings with people to talk about immigrants, who we are, why we came, and what we want, make protest to fight for our rights, send letters to the government of Alabama to make them understand that this law is very unfair and that they are hurting mostly children. My hopes and dreams are to create union between all the people! It doesn’t care from where you are, we are all the same and equal, we have the same rights and there shouldn’t be discrimination in this world.

My wishes for you are to get support form more people, don’t give up because you are fighting for your rights and if you give up this kind of laws will expand to many other states! I know you will reach your goal and that you will make Americans to understand that we came to improve this country not to harm it .

It is my hope that your government will repeal this law now and that you can live a safe, secure and successful life.

    Thank you,

    Sincerely,

When I found out about the Alabama Law HB 56, the “toughest immigration law in the country", I felt really nervous and mad. In addition, as an immigrant student, I believe this law is unfair because of immigrants can not even go out without the document, and it will make lots of undocumented people afraid of going to school and hospital etc. I'm here in this country to contribute in the following ways :1. I am doing community service at kindergarten, in order to help teacher take care of children. 2. I help people who is old and really needs love. My hopes and dreams are to look at immigrants equally as the American citizens, and also respect us. Let us feel like this country is our native country. When I found out about the Alabama Law HB 56, the “toughest immigration law in the country", I felt really bad about it because it is completely ridiculous. I mean , We have to bring a lot of papers every where we go just to know if we are legal or not is just stupid to me.In addition, as an immigrant student, I believe this law is unfair because of the new duty given to the teachers in high school or middle school or also in the church. They have to check every students or every people in the church if they are undocumented immigrants or not . For me, That is way out of the line because its obviously not their jobs to ask that kind of things to students or people who want to pray for what they are believing in. I'm here in this country to contribute in the following ways: Finish my education, and try to finish college as soon as possible. My hopes and dreams are to make this country better , and to make my friends and my families proud of me.

My wishes for you are that I hope you will get what you are fighting for.Do not ever give up on it if you think its the right choice for you and everyone else.

We share opinions with respect to this new law in Alabama, i also think that this is very unfair specially for the children who cant get an education just for their immigrant status, I hope that the Alabama's government ends with this law and that they could understand that immigrant people just came here to get a better life, we deserve freedom, education and respect

Dear Alabama Dreamers for the Future,

My name is Kanto Rasedoara and I'm a student at Newcomers High School in Queens, NY. I came here in the United States 2 years ago form Madagascar . I am writing this letter to give you guys my support during this new and harsh law that just came out .
They call this new law in Alabama the ‘Toughest immigration law in the country ’ . Just by hearing that statement it sadden me a lot . All the immigrant all over the entire country are probably shocked and afraid by this new law . So it not only that this new law is affecting Alabama but it worrying the entire country since the United States has a lot of immigrants . In addition , as an immigrant students myself , I believe that this law is unfair because the new law requires all the teachers and administrator in all the schools to look at every single students immigrant or not who enrolled in the school if they have their papers . This just sounds crazy to me since as the law in the U.S says that no matter what if the child is legal or not they should always be allowed to go to school . So why checking the papers ? they cant even kick out the kids from school . I heard from the news that they use this to just scare the people . In an article in The New York Times they said that more Hispanic children in Alabama are missing school ever since this law came out and “about 5 percent of the state's Hispanic schoolchildren -- 1,988 students -- were absent.” This is really unbelievable and just not fair towards these kids.
All of the immigrants who comes to this country all have a goal . And that goal is to start a new life , get a better education and living . For me personally I came here also with this goal in my head and also to make my family proud of me . And for all those immigrant living in Alabama , I wish for you guys the best because together , united , we can fight for our rights as immigrants and also as human beings .
It is my hope that your government will repeal this law now and that you can live a safe, secure and successful life.

    Thank You
    Sincerely ,

    Kanto Rasedoara

When I found out about the Alabama Law HB 56, the “toughest immigration law in the country", I felt so bad as well angry. Bad because I saw the debate and it says, “Since the announcement of the decision on Sept. 28, school officials have noticed that more Hispanic students are missing from classrooms. On Sept. 30, about 5 percent of the state's Hispanic schoolchildren -- 1,988 students -- were absent.” After reading this I was so surprised and I felt so bad for the students. What happened to those students? Are they okay or they have been arrested for not having immigration papers or documents? In addition, as an immigrant student, I believe this law is unfair because of this country was made by and for immigrants. The law is too rude for the immigrants. I am totally against with the law and wish you to be success to go against the law. My hopes and dreams are to see you guys shine and success and to step forward. My wishes for you are to never give up and keep strength in your heart. Be strong, don’t move back. When I found out about the Alabama Law HB 56, the “toughest immigration law in the country", I felt disgusted, mad, and sad because all kids should have the right to study without bringing to matter their immigration status . In addition, as an immigrant student, I believe this law is unfair because I am an immigrant myself and even though I am legal in this country I feel that in all schools mostly public they shouldn’t be asking for immigration statuses because It must feel really bad having that feeling on saying “I don’t have a SSN or a Green card, we should all have the right to study . I'm here in this country to contribute in the following ways we should write letters to the president Obama and ask him to veto that law, and ask the federal government to help, we could also make propaganda to make people see that this law is unfair and in somehow unconstitutional also we could educate people about it so that they could help us with the cause. My hopes and dreams are that this law disappears so that the state of Alabama goes back to normal and the kids and parents are not afraid to go to school anymore, also other wish for me is that the dream act passes to Alabama and that students who graduated from High School and College can get the most wanted Green Crad.

My wishes for you are for you to be strong. After the storm comes the peace that’s what they usually say. Also I hope that this law stops so you guys can go back to your studies, and become someone important in life, but you know what? you’re already someone important because you guys are standing up and speaking for those who are terrified and think they’ll be deported. You are heroes from now and always. When I found out about the Alabama Law HB 56, the “toughest immigration law in the country", I felt disappointed. I couldn’t believe this law really past in this diversity country. And also, the American were the immigrant at 1600s. I don’t understand why American are doing the thing, which makes immigrants very hard to live in this country. In addition, as an immigrant student, I believe this law is unfair because of we all have opportunities to be educated. And we could not bring the document everywhere, which is very dangerous. I'm here in this country to contribute in the following ways, we do community services, we get hardest job and poor condition of work, we are holding up the tertiary industry. My hopes and dreams are everybody to be equal no matter what social class of this person is.

My wishes for you are to get the justice from people who are supporting you, and your hard work will lead you to win the flight of truth.

It is my hope that your government will repeal this law now and that you can live a safe, secure and successful life.

And this would let the people who live here feel not safe. In addition, as an immigrant student, I believe this law is unfair because of everyone should have their human rights; they coming here can do something for the society, not just harmful. I'm here in this country to contribute in the following ways helping people, do some community service as much I can do. Dear Alabama Dreamers for the Future,

My name is Masuma Akter and I'm a student at Newcomers High School in Queens, NY. I'm an immigrant from Bangladesh and I've been in this country for almost three years. I'm writing to show you support during this difficult time.

When I found out about the Alabama Law HB 56, the “toughest immigration law in the country", I felt very sad because people are now afraid of sending children to the school and also afraid to go to the Doctor while pregnant. In addition, as an immigrant student, I believe this law is unfair because of its taking the rights away from the immigrants. Its not a crime to be an immigrant while this country was made by immigrants. If the law does not want anymore immigrants they could stop Immigration system. They do not have the right to do these ridiculous stuff with the immigrants. I'm here in this country to contribute in the following ways, having peace among everyone and always to be with the truth. My hopes and dreams are to fight against the human rights.

My wishes for you are to follow your heart, keep dreaming, fight against this ridiculous law and get your right back.It is my hope that your government will repeal this law now and that you can live a safe, secure and successful life.

Dear Alabama Dreamers for the Future,

My name is Maciej Deptula and I'm a student at Newcomers High School in Queens, NY. I'm an immigrant from Poland and I've been in this country for 3 years. I'm writing to show you support during this difficult time.

When I found out about the Alabama Law HB 56, the “toughest immigration law in the country", I felt surprised and angry, in my personal opinion when you live in this country and you are paying taxes you are part of the community if you want it or not. This law is unconstitutional and the people who created this country were immigrants from Europe they came here for freedom. In addition, as an immigrant student, I believe this law is unfair because I believe that “are man are created equal” from the preamble. Even the founding fathers thought that. I am also immigrant and I cannot image a policeman braking through my house whit out anyone permission and asking me for my documents. The immigrants in Alabama don’t have the rights that are in the Constitution in United States, which make me sad because that why the first immigrants came here, for freedom. I'm here in this country to contribute in the following ways to get education and to improve the economy. My hopes and dreams are to finish college, save some money and then educate myself even more.

My wishes for you are that the Federal government will react, and remember your not alone.
It is my hope that your government will repeal this law now and that you can live a safe, secure and successful life.
    Thank you,

    Sincerely,

My name is Daulton Dehil.I am a student at Lakewood High School. It was werid that seening the kkk protesting, and counter protesting. It made me glad to see people stainding up for what they believe in.
People in this film are risking to face death, prison, hospital, and other.
I think that the risks are worth it because they are not afraid to stand up they think its right, and trying to make a change.
The biggest problem in lakewood is the removing of catholic chruches. Lakewood is trying to get rid of St. James but failed, and the city council of Lakewood is still trying to remove St. James. St. Lukes education part has been removed, but the chruch is still there and faccec city council problems. Catholic chruches should be saved. People have made fun of chatholic chruches on tv, books, movies, and all things to entertain people or to show the people.

This video of people making change in this vid has got me inspired. Not only it has got me inspired it also got seening that there is people out there making change. The Alabama chat has been removed. Which I think it was a good thing.
