Not in our Schools recommends the following steps to prevent bullying:
Six simple solutions:- If you are being bullied: tell them to stop, get away from the situation, and tell a trusted adult.
- If you see someone being bullied, be an upstander: Tell the person to stop, get a trusted adult, reach out and be friends.
- With your children: Listen and support your children. Work with the school to be sure your child is safe.
- In Your School: Learn and help train all adults and youth on how to recognize and respond to bullying.
- With Others Who Care: Start a Not In Our School Anti-bullying Club where youth lead in finding solutions.
- In Your School and the Entire Community: Create an identity-safe climate where all people are respected.

ReplyDelete1. What is your reaction to this film and why?
We think we have to stop the bullying, and we felt very angry and disappointed, because every people is equal, and we have to respect each other.
2. What is your reaction to this film and why?
We think we have to stop the bullying, and we felt very angry and disappointed, because every people is equal, and we have to respect each other.
3. Do you think these steps are realistic? Effective? Why?
Yes, we think these steps are realistic, those kind of actions are really hurt some people’s dignity, because bullying will affect children’s study and their life.
4. What on this list are you doing?
No, we did not do those things in this list to other people.
I agree with the fact that everyone is equal and we have to respect each other.
DeleteI agree with what you said that everyone is equal and I had same feeling with you after I watched the video 2
DeleteDon't you have any different specific feelings for Films 1 and 2?
Delete^^^^ Tin Nilar: What a great question!!
DeleteJackelin Hoyos
ReplyDelete1.What is your reaction to this film and why?
I Felt angry watching this video because you don’t have to be annoying with nobody although you think its funny, its not. You have to be respectful with everybody.
2.Do you think this spets are realistic? Effective? Why?
I think it could work if everybody work on it because is important that everybody knows about what bullying means and don’t be afraid.
3. What on this list are you doing?
I never have been present in a similar situation like the video but i'm sure i will do:
If you see someone being bullied, be an upstander: tell the person to stop, get a trusted adult, reach out and be friends.
You are missing 1 question :p
DeleteI agree with your opinions.
Delete1. What is your reaction to this film and why?
ReplyDeleteAfter watching the film, I felt kind of surprised and sad because she didn’t respond to the people who did bad thing to her and she just let them be invisible. But this kind of action should not be happen on anyone because everyone has self-respect and born equally.
2. What is your reaction to this film and why?
I felt angry and disappointed to the person who bullied his partner because he didn’t have any reason to do like that to someone. Everyone is born equally and we have to respect each other.
3. Do you think these steps are realistic? Effective? Why?
Yes, I think these steps are realistic and effective because bullying is a serious problem and we need to stop this. Bullying is really affecting someone’s everything like self-confidence and sometimes the rest of the life. It makes bullied people be never to express their feelings because they are afraid that they will be bullied again.
4. What on this list are you doing?
I am doing the community service in the Kindergarten. So, I am always careful about bullying that someone is bullying someone or not. I have full responsible for the children. For more, I will try my best to stop the bullying around my community.
yes right...
DeleteWhat an excellent response!
Deletewhat an excellent response to my response!!
DeleteYes, you are all right, I agree with you said, I think we all should work together to stop bullying. What an excellent response.
DeleteYou are really similar to my views.
Delete1.what the anchor said is very inspirational. when she faces hurtful emails like that, she does not let it go. Instead, she fights back against and calls out to stop bullying. I think she’s right. Bullying is a serious problem and that needs to be addressed.
ReplyDelete2.I feel angry, because people are equal. We all deserve a fair treatment from others. So, I think we need to stop bullying, because sometimes it will ruin one’s life.
3.I think some of them are realistic. Like step 1, because it’s important to speak up when you are bullied. Otherwise, bullying will just get worse without punishments. But step like step 2 is not realistic, I think by the nature of people , people won’t risk their safety to save others. Overall, those steps are helpful in a way to eliminating bullying
4.I would do step 6 and 3. It’s important to tell next generation about harms of bullyings. And I would try to create a good atmosphere for my class.
1. What is your reaction and why?
DeleteMy reaction to this video is that the person who is hosting the show is being bullied with a text. However, this thing is really often happened to a lot of people. Mostly, teenagers are the target of a bully, usually they are the ones who get bullied by their peers based on their physical appearance, mental, or any action that is embarassing. I would say that bullying should be stopped, because it can ruin someone’s future and having a low self-esteem.
2. What is your reaction to this film and why?
First of all, I am really stunned after seeing that clip. It really is showing that bullying is really pervasive. It is really sad that the fact a lot of people are stereotyping againts each other. Some people just don’t have any idea what the other person is going through. Another thing that I really noticed is that the people around victim are being ignorant and closing their eyes, ears, and mouth. If I was there, I would really speak up and go againts the bully.
3. Do you think these steps are realistic? Effective? Why?
First solution: According to my opinion, I could say that this step is not really realistic and kind of impossible to happen. Usually bully always takes action when there is no one or in a quite place.
Second solution: This I could say that this is really effective, and I would do that. However, there is a lot of people who are ignorant as well.
Third solution: I think that this solution will work well, because I believe that parental guidance is extremely effective.
Forth solution: I am in between, I think that this solution will work good if the students are willing to listen to that and some teenagers are just stubborn and don’t want to listen to their peers.
Fifth solution: I think that it works well, a youth group is a good in and effective way.
Sixth solution: I don’t think that this solution is realistic. Because, to be honest people are just different, some will respect and some will not. However, we can make it effective if everyone in the community is participating and following the rules.
4. What on this list are you doing?
According to what I see in school, I am more to the second solution. As a matter of fact, I can’t stand againts a bully. I really do hate a bully. They think that they are having a lot of power that can make other people down. I’m really againts it and I would stand and speak up when I see someone is getting bullied.
The steps for stopping bullying is really important because it can make people really hurt and sometimes it can ruin someone's whole life.

DeleteYeah! We should stand against the bully and providing a great society in our school!
DeleteYou are rights.we have to respect to each other.
DeleteWhy is Aditya's post under Chaojie's? Anyway, I agree with Chaojie's saying that Jennifer handled her situation very well to inform public about bully.
DeleteAdiya also presented thoughtful responses for each solution.
1. What is your reaction to this film and why? (Jennifer’s message to her bully)
ReplyDeleteI was so surprised when I heard that even a public news reporter got bullied by an unknown man who sent her a “critical” email about her obesity. This got even stronger and interesting when she showed his letter on the screen. That man should be really embarrassed for his action because now everyone finds out his inhuman criticism towards Jennifer. As Jennifer mentioned, it is not his business to degrade her obesity and popularity. At the end of the film, I was really amazed about how he dared to send his bully letter and ignored possible consequences.
2. What is your reaction to this film and why? (“Breaking Bullying”)
It was unacceptable to believe that bullying even exists in professional workplace. That bully in the video should have known proper workplace etiquettes to get more mature than a middle school or high school bully. Moreover, another worse thing is that fellow workers don’t even think to stand up for this scene. If I were in this situation, unlike those bystanders, I would have stepped up and said something.
3. Do you think these steps are realistic? Effective? Why?
Yes, those steps are absolutely realistic and effective. They are just within our reach. In our communities, these bullies are happening and we just don’t realize those. If we are trained to learn more about bully and how to avoid it, we will be able to help not only ourselves but also other bully victims around us. With cooperation and national awareness, we will be able to wipe it out one day.
4. What on this list are you doing?
I am doing no.4 which is In Your School: Learn and help train all adults and youth on how to recognize and respond to bullying.
What a great thing that you are doing in school!
DeleteWhat is your reaction to this film and why?
ReplyDeleteI'm really surprised by this video because we can see bulling in adults too and it looks even worse but it is the same effect than children.
Do you think these steps are realistic? Effective? Why?
Absolutely, that's what happens in schools and also in some places where there are children, it's very sad to see that realistic event. By watching the video people will think about bulling and the society will change wrong ideas.
What on this list are you doing?
I always try to stop bulling because I really hate to see people being treated badly.
I do this more frequently:
If you see someone being bullied, be an up-stander: Tell the person to stop, get a trusted adult, reach out and be friends.
In Your School: Learn and help train all adults and youth on how to recognize and respond to bullying.
1. What is your reaction to this film and why? (film1)
ReplyDeleteWatching this film made me feel bad. I have never being bullying but i could see the pain of hearing someone cursing at you or saying something bad about you. Bullying isn't funny. We should not bring ourselves down for people even their words hurts badly. We should love and accept ourselves the way it is. We are all beautiful in our way. And we should make sure that we teach and show our kids that bullying is bad. We should educate them in the right way. It’s good to have member of your family or friends to support you when you are going to a hard situation.
2. What is your reaction to this film and why? (film2)
My reaction to this film was bad also. Why didn't the other employees do something about? Did they told the supervisor to come or what? The supervisor is a bad one, he didn't ask for an explanation of what happen. He saw the victim in the floor and he just told him to get back to work. I think that the supervisor should have ask details by asking questions to the other employees who were in the room and fired the bad man.
3. Do you think these steps are realistic? Effective? Why?
These steps are pretty realistic and effective because it is really helpful and are good solution to end Bullying. We need to end Bullying. I would recommend if we see someone being bullying to call a teacher as soon as possible instead of entering the the conversation and while the teacher is being informed of the situation and you could reconfort the victim. You want to help and also not to get yourself in trouble.
4. What on this list are you doing?
I am :
-If you are being bullied: tell them to stop, get away from the situation, and tell a trusted adult.
-If you see someone being bullied, be an up stander: Tell the person to stop, get a trusted adult, reach out and be friends.
These are what i am doing. I don’t really see people being bully in the school.I would like to join an anti-bullying club to support everyone who are being bully.
1.What is your reaction to this film and why?
ReplyDeleteI agree with this lady said, we have to “fight” against bullying, I think to solve this problem, everyone should be come together and stop them. And most of time, we should tell a trusted adult or school teacher to prevent bullying
2. What is your reaction to this film and why?
I am angry with the people who sitting around and did not this the guy bullying the old man, and this is very disrespectful, also the attitude of the last man is to connive the guy to keep bullying another person.
3. Do you think these steps are realistic? Effective? Why?
I think these steps are realistic and effective, because when we involved bullying, we need someone else especially trusted adult to help us out, also, when we know more about bullying, such as how to recognize and respond to bullying, we will able to preserve our rights.
4. What on this list are you doing?
I am doing no.2 on this list, once I saw several people were bullying one person, I called a security to came over and help the person out.
i felt the same way about the people around the man, and i also agree with you about the last man. He such an ignorant man.
Delete1.What is your reaction to this film and why?
ReplyDeleteWhen I watched this film, the first reaction for me is that I am very proud of the Jennifer’s behavior when she got the bad message. She is brave and dares to stand out to the audiences to teach them how to deal with that matter. Even though she hurts by this message. I think she is a hero and wonderful women. Another reaction for this film, I feel so sad that human beings are more and more evil. I don’t know why these bullying will happen, however, I hope people could get along well with each other. not bullying, insulting. That’s the most extremely harm for their hearts.
Now watch this film called "Break Bullying".
2.What is your reaction to this film and why?
I was astonished that people never help and stand out when they saw someone is bullied. I feel so uneasy and disappointed for human beings’ behavior. Human nature and behavior and mind are becoming more and more terrible. Initially, I believe that human beings are kind and not evil. Now I think I need to reconsider of that issue.
3. Do you think these steps are realistic? Effective? Why? (add to Blog 3)
In my mind, it’s impossible for us to eradicate the bullying. I think some of these steps could be effective for some people because some people are confused about their life so that they did some bad things and made mistakes. They need people to lead them to march the right way. However, not all people could obey these steps because some of people could break down them and they are illogical. So these steps merely could maintain the surface of this problem.
4. What on this list are you doing? (add to Blog 3)
In Your School: Learn and help train all adults and youth on how to recognize and respond to bullying.
Film 1
ReplyDeleteWhat is your reaction to this film and why?
After i watched this video, i felt bad because, no one has the right to judge others regarding to their physical appearance, some don’t choose to look certain way, they were just born like this. If the person feels good about him/herself you, whoever you are has no right to complain about it. Also like she said, i definitely believe that it’s mostly about how parents set up examples to their kids that some maniere are evolving in the society and can cause awful things.
Film 2
What is your reaction to this film and why?
This film makes me feel awful because, not only the man is getting bullied by another man but the most awful is that everybody's just sitting and staring, even the boss doesn’t say anything to try to stop the wrong. This situation gives the oppressor full power to continue to do what he was doing.
Do you think these steps are realistic? Effective? Why?
I surely believe that these steps are realistic and can have good effectiveness because, the first thing to do when we see other people getting bullied or even we are the victim we should stand up and do something about it. Sometimes the victim might be afraid to stand for himself but if somebody else took the first step he/her will feel more encourage to stand for him/herself. The community also has its part of responsibility .
What on this list are you doing?
When I see someone getting bullied, i tell them to stop and try to get away from the situation, and tell the bully, matter fact i’m willing to help him or her to go and find a trusted person that can really help him/her out.
have you ever saw someone get bullied? I never did but i know they must be dying on the inside and smiling so that no one realize that. You right the victims are always afraid and will keep it for themselves and not tell no one.
Delete1. What is your reaction to this film and why? (jennifer’s message to her bullying)
ReplyDeleteI’m scared about this case because people just see what’s outside the person but never take a time to know them. In this case even the lady is a public character she was bullied by a guy who doesn’t know her and these things always happen with teenager in these days, they are bullying for the society and they can not accept how they are because the “standard” of the society. The real “beauty” even if it doesn't exist.
2. What is your reaction to this film and why? (Break Bullying)
I’m surprised about this case because even when they are adults, they continue making bullying. That’s the example that child and teenagers have about it, and if they don’t stop it how the society pretend that young people are going to stop it. Some of the adults who suffer of bullying are the same how grow with it and its time to same “no” because that problem will the grow with the pass of the time by generations.
3. Do you think these steps are realistic? Effective? Why?
I think these steps are not so realistic but would be effective because people around us don’t want to be part of that problem, they prefer to let it pass than try to help other. In other cases, the person how were bullied prefers to be in silence than go to then their parents because they are scared about the reaction of them and the bullyings and when they see that nothing happen after that they continue doing it.
4. What on this list are you doing?
The first step of the list- If you are being bullied: tell them to stop, get away from the situation, and tell a trusted adult.
1. I was impressed by Jennifer's reaction on her buller, and how she gave her response to the person who was bullying her. I guess it was great that Jennifer could stand for herself, and she did it in the front of huge audience.
ReplyDelete2. I don’t even know what can I say, I know there sometimes a bully and you, facing each other, for him it’s just horsing around and for other it’s bad and painful experience. It wasn’t nice to see the video like this, but it’s demonstrate the reality.
3. Some of the steps are realistic, but for someone it’s hard to do that. Everybody saying that, but no one do it. So they are realistic but it’s hard to achieve them.
4. I am trying to create the peaceful climate for others.
You view are right .I think so.
Delete1.I was very impressed by Jennifer’s reaction and how she managed to use an attack to her look to teach a lesson to the viewers of the show. I agree with her on the point she made about teaching young children about the importance of educating young children on the issue of bullying and teaching that every person has much more to show than only their appearance.
ReplyDelete2.It’s very unsettling to think that people actually go through situations like that on their school or their communities and, most of the times, nothing is done to stop the actions of bullies.
3.The steps created by Not in Our School to prevent bullying are all realistic because they could be done by anyone who is interested in preventing bullying. A lot of those steps focus on creating a safe and friendly environment which is very important to prevent bullying, so I think they are effective steps.
4.One of the stops I do from the list is step number 2 which is If you see someone being bullied, be an upstander: Tell the person to stop, get a trusted adult, reach out and be friends.
Your ideas are very similar to me.
DeleteI realize that most of us chose solution # 2, but how exactly we are going to take part?
Delete1. What is your reaction to this film and why? (add to blog 3)
ReplyDeleteWhen I watch this film I feel very bad for the bulling , because a lot of people they have not respect each others. And they are the very selfish people . they always think themselves never care about other people .
2. What is your reaction to this film and why?
When I watch this film I feel very bad for the bulling , because a lot of people they have not respect each others. And they are the very selfish people . they always think themselves never care about other people .
3. 3. Do you think these steps are realistic? Effective? Why?
Yes , it is .because they are bad action effective the children and the community . that still effective the education in the school .
4. What on this list are you doing?
I do the service in the Kindergarten. Help them to reading the books and take care them . I hope here have not bulling in the school. Also I will do my best to stop the bulling . and tell them we have love each other .
I really agree with your opinions.
Delete1. What is your reaction to this film and why? My reaction about the email was very angry and disappointed but later when Jennifer responded to it, that was really inspiring. By her we get confident. Her words are really effective for all of us whoever is faced by bullying in their lives.
ReplyDelete2. What is your reaction to this film and why?
There are some people out there who needs to stop bullying and some needs to know how to be an up-stander. We need to understand that even if we can’t become an up-stander at least we can try our best to make someone feel good. About the film I really felt very angry. because that boy was bullying the man named pap and other man who came to the room, didn't say anything while he saw that pap is in the floor and there is something wrong. He react like there is nothing wrong.
3. Do you think these steps are realistic? Effective? Why?
Yes. these steps are very much realistic and effective. Because to stop bullying we need to do these steps. This is very important to stand up against bullying and save others and yourself from being bullied.
4. What on this list are you doing?
Unfortunately I couldn't stand up for a bullying that happened if front of me in this morning but definitely I did tell an adult about this. So next time if something happens we could stand up together. Sometimes we are afraid to stand up alone, together we can make a change.
1.What is your reaction and why?
ReplyDeleteSomething that really caught my attention while watching this video is that the host herself has been cyber bullied. A man emailed her and calling her a “fat lady”. That makes me angry and at the same time sad because that kind action violates a person’s human right. Nobody should be judged on race, ethnicity, size, and sexual orientation etc... Being fat doesn’t define someone’s personality. What makes me sad is that until today people still being so prejudiced despite all these campaigns about tolerance and respect in our society.
2. What is your reaction to this film and why?
This video really nags my mind profoundly because it shows how someone is being extremely mistreated merely based on his size, and some people are present and they take no actions. They just let an act of injustice happens without doing anything to stop it. Our society won’t move forward if we don’t support each other justly.
3.Do you think these steps are realistic? effective? why?
First solution: I personally think it is not that realistic because bullies don’t usually give the victim a chance to run away.
Second solution: I strongly support this solution because it is one of the most effective ways we can fight against bullying.
Third solution: This solution can also be very effective because parental participation provides significant supports to shrink problems.
Fourth solution: It can be effective in certain ways, however, teenagers don’t really listen to the advice of their peers. I think an adult intervention will be more effective.
Fifth solution: This is very effective because working together makes actions more significant.
Sixth solution: If everyone in the community is clearly following the rules, and shows great efforts of tolerance. I think that step would be greatly influenceable.
4. What on the list you are doing?
I think I’ll go with solution # 2 because for me it is the most effective one.
1. What is your reaction to this film and why?
ReplyDeleteAfter watching this film i had a deep feeling inside me that we should stand up and fight against bullying. Its heartbreaking to know that most of the teenagers go through this horrible experience and still live with it. As the reporter said you should not let these words stop you from believing in yourself or feeling down. People will always judge you and criticise you but this should not stop you from living your life the way you want, be strong and always remember that your loved ones will always support you.
2) What is your reaction to this film and why?
It was hard for me to watch and just do nothing, i feel like i should stand up for the person who was being bullied because thats the kind of person i am. I have experienced this kind of situation and i feel bad that i couldn't do anything at that time because i was too small but now i know what's the right thing to do.
3. Do you think these steps are realistic? Effective? Why?
Yes, I think these steps are realistic and effective because bullying is a serious problem these days and effecting lives of millions of people. We need to figure out how to stop this problem and take initiative on our own.
4. What on this list are you doing?
Being an up stander and telling the person to stop or telling an adult and reach out to friends.
What is your reaction to this film and why?
ReplyDeleteIt shows us bulling happens at any age and by different ways. It could be by messages and it affects many people, specially children.
1. What is your reaction to this film and why?
ReplyDeleteBullying is a really bad thing put others down just to make themselves feel superior to others or try to control others.I feel really mad when someone bullying each others.People think it is just making fun of them.we should stop it
2. What is your reaction to this film and why?
My reaction to this film is really angry because that young guy assault that older guy who’s
age is same as his father. So i will say that thats really untolerable.
3. Do you think these steps are realistic? Effective? Why?
In my opinion I think these steps are realistic because it just make someone feel unhappy
and it also hurts our honor. We are all equal and should respect each one.
4. What on this list are you doing?
Honestly I do the first one because I have experienced some situation like that.
1. What is your reaction to this film and why?
ReplyDeleteI think that obesity could be a big problem in our society, however people don’t have to be judged for their physical appearance. what is really important is what we are inside.
2. What is your reaction to this film and why?
bullying is the worst thing that could ever exist. i got angry when i saw this video because nobody has the power of bothering others and i do not like the injustice
3. Do you think these steps are realistic? Effective? Why?
well, in my opinion some of them work ,but some of them not really because telling them to stop will not solve the problem.
4. What on this list are you doing?
i am doing the second one because its the best one to tell an adult about bullying and take action to protect the person bullied.
1. I was very impressed by Jennifer’s reaction, no many people can stand in front of millions people and respons about themselves.I think she did a great job and she taught people how they should react in those kind of situations
ReplyDelete2. I get so mad at the man who kicked the other man. I don’t understand how this could happen. There were people around and nobody react. We can’t allow people to bull us! We have to make a stand against that.
3. Those steps created by Not in Our School to prevent bullying are very realistic because they could be done anyone who is involt or wants to get involved in preventing bullying. Many people would said that those steps are not realistic. In my opinion they are realistic, because if we really want to do something to stop bullying we will do everything to stop it. Those steps are part of that.
4. In Your School and the Entire Community: Create an identity-safe climate where all people are respected.
1. What is your reaction to this film and why?
ReplyDeleteI think that bullying is very bad in our society. we must stop that to have a good society.because nobody has the rights to bully someon else
2. What is your reaction to this film and why?
I want to kick that person who is bullying people. because he does not understand the feelings about people who was being bullying
3. Do you think these steps are realistic? Effective? Why?
I think that these steps are realistic and effective because bullying is a serious problem and we need to stop this.By watching the video people will think about bulling and the society will change wrong ideas.People need understand the feelings of being bullying.
4. What on this list are you doing?
I think that most of us had these experience in our life. we need to stop this kind of situation. teach younger people to know about that. the situation will get better in our next generation.
1.What is your reaction to this film and why?
ReplyDeleteAns: Progga: My reaction about the email was very angry and disappointed but later when Jennifer responded to it, that was really inspiring. By her we get confident. Her words are really effective for all of us whoever is faced by bullying in their lives.
Fahameda: I think that bullying is very bad in our society and it getting bigger as the time passes through. I was very impressed by Jennifer’s reaction because she stand for herself in front of millions people and respons about herself.I think she did a great job and she taught people how they should react when they face on that kind of situations.
Film 2
2.What is your reaction to this film and why?
Ans: Progga: Somehow this film is related to me or my friends. It makes me to feel awful because a old person who’s in the age of the man is getting bully by that man.Mayb this kind of person doesnot have common sence that how to behave with elder people.Besides that its true that now-a-days many students fell in this kind of situation.when the person was getting bully nobody said anything without staring so I feel, if people see something, they should say something and help.
Fahameda: After watching this film, I felt very embarrassing and disappointing because now a days, bullying become a great issue in everyones life and people are facing in this situation everyday. The old man in this film was bullied very badly by another guy who do not have any idea about how to behave with older people and how to respect them. He also hitted him so this is a crime and he should be arrested for that but the people around them were just staring on them instead of doing anything or taking any acting. So in my opinion, they should help the old person by say something about that nonsense guy and call at 911.
3. Do you think these steps are realistic? Effective? Why?
Ans: Progga: I think those steps are 100% realistic and effective because we should stand up for someone who is getting bully without any reason. That’s a duty of a human that we should help others as much as we can,in their bad situation.Sometimes a victim can’t stand up for himself so that he need someone who help him.
Fahameda: In my opinion, these all steps are realistic and 100% true because people should stand up for other people and they should respect them no matter how they look like, what is their identity and which religion or country they are from. As a human, if we see something bad then we should say something about it and thats how we will be able to stop bullying.
