  2. we can break the stereotypes by trying to keep an open mind. we know that to break out of an entrenched stereotype is not easy. Part of it involves knowing, or researching what others believed us to be in the past, what they believe now and what they see for the future.we most try and stand up

  3. What the boy in the video says is so true. I find myself feeling confident and assured after someone praises me. I remember one time, my teacher made a joke to a student she was really friendly with but the girl really took it personally and transferred out of the class. It was good because teachers probably shouldn't be crossing that line. It really affected this girl and our whole class. We also didn't want adults were judging us.

  4. 1.How can we really break down the stereotypes that divide us? What do you say?
I think we could break down the stereotypes little by little and try our best to do it, even though it is complicated and difficult to break the inrooted stereotypes. Some of them maybe are about the relief and custom that hide inside the bottom of the people’s hearts. We could maybe change their mind patiently or persuade them in other ways. What we could merely is to try.

2.After I finish watching these videos, I found that human beings are really analogous in many ways. I have the same feelings of whatever they talk in the videos. One of the experience is to migrate U.S.A from own country. This matter maybe change all my lives absolutely. When a person comes to a strange country, he would feels isolated and lonely because there is no person whom you know in this country. Therefore, we need to help people who have similar experience to get out of these feelings and help them to adapt the new environments as “Not in our School”. I hope that I could be part of them to help people who help me before.

  5. "How can we really break down the stereotypes that divide us? What do you say?"

Stereotypes have never been good since this is the root of racism and bullying. Some people just let their friends stereotyping others as long as they don’t get affected. This is the point where we all should start eliminating the root of any kinds of stereotypes. If we see our friends doing something that is just not right towards the others, we should warn and stop them by explaining what they are actually causing.

    "Joselo Visits Newcomers High School"

I feel really sorry for Marcelo’s family for their loss. Although it has been many years now, the scar in their heart won’t fade away. The root of this murder is stereotyping. It is totally unacceptable for someone to be killed out of the blue all because of his/her race. We all should step up and stop this nonsense and psychotic ideas of harming innocents for no reason.

The stereotypes have been there for a long time. We can not make it through a short time. It must be break down through a period little by little. There are some way to do it.For example, we can do community servise together to close each other. This video makes me think my life is similar to them. When people move to a new place even a new country, they have to have time to get used to it and to adapat. If we see someone like the past of us, we have to help them get out of the problems because when we feel isolate ,we really hope that there would be somenoe to get you out.Don`t we?

I think to break down the stereotypes should be little by little through a period, Because stereotype formed through a long time, It is like a bad habbit, we cannot easily change it, but, we still can change it day by day. Also, I think environment can affect stereotypes a lot, peer pressure, self-esteem, these all can affect us to form stereotype, i think to change into a different environment may easier for us to break down stereotypes, but,it depends, because some people cannot easily fit into a new environment.

    2. The video shows a similar story to me, when I first came to this country, I don't know anything, anybody, and first time I came to school, it is totally different than I imaged, I am alone everyday and I want to talk to other people, but I am afraid to do that, because I am new here and we don't know each other. Now, I am kind of fit into this new environment, I think I should help people who is new here to fit into this new country, to make friends with these all kind persons.

  8. How can we really break down the stereotypes that divide us? What do you say?

In my opinion, breaking the habit of stereotyping is not an easy thing. I understand that we, as a human being tend to be judgemental to each other. We are trying to inference and guess about others. However, since we don't have facts about them, we are just making guesses and inferences about that one person. Nevertheless, there is a way to solve this issue, we have to stand and speak out to the people around us and work together to tell the world and teenagers that stereotyping is not the solution.

I saw "Football captain speak out against bullying". I am stunned after hearing this. This is an awesome and courageous move. Also, that is one of the best idea to speak out and gather people with you when you are standing out against something. A football captain, can influence to his friends and a lot others.

  9. 1. Is hard to break the stereotypes, but if we want to change something in our world we should do it. Breaking down the stereotypes is a long, but workful process. People don’t realize that many times stereotypes are simply bullying. By making them we discriminated someone. We should make a group and teach people about stereotypes. We should show to people that by them we can hurt somebody.

    2. In page NIOT I watched about march in NYC to stop “STOP and FRISK”. I think that’s a law in which government discriminate a color skin people like african american or south american people. I agreed with the people who made that march because I think the same like they think is a bad law. We live in free country, but we are really free here no. Everyday a police stops someone, because he or she look for him suspicious.

1-How can we really break down the stereotypes that divide us? What do you say?
We can gather together and try to stick together and make people see the other side. We need to fight the problems and stand up to spread the truth. We need to stop letting people bringing us down by our race, or nationality. We are all equal and should be treat with respect. An nation get judge by what the people do. We should stand up, its not because that person did something terrible that people have to think that i am that way too. This is unfair.

2-I have never been bullied or maybe i don't remember. After watching one video,I felt sad and angry. Sad because that poor man was trying to ignore the man who was bullying and cursing at him. But angry because no one in the room who were didn't say nothing. They let the man bully the little man without helping them. If we want Bullying to stop we need to STAND UP and to help each other like calling a supervisor so he can fix the situation. The other people should have told that to the boss so they could fire that man. WE CAN END BULLYING IF WE BECOME ONE! i really can't understand why people should bully for? Those people who bully other people does that make them feel powerful or respectful? Those people have no heart.

One thing we have to understand is that, many people do not know what stereotyping is and when you tell tell them what they are saying or doing is stereotyping a certain group, they deny it. I think everyone might agree with me on this that it is not easy to break stereotyping. If we want to break it we have to first educate them what is or what are things we say that are considered stereotyping and how what we say can affect a lot of people. Another method also is to not be a bystander when you see someone being stereotyped because if you won’t say anything that person would not stop and will keep saying those things that are untrue.

I watched a video about the New Yorkers Gather for Silent March to End Racial Profiling.
Stop and frisk has become a big issue specially here in New York. Police are stopping people in the street based on the way they look. The police are just like stereotyping the people one by one. This should stop. I haven’t been personally stopped in the street, but I have friends who have been and told me how everybody started staring and you feel uncomfortable.

  12. .It hard to change something. If you want to change something you have to work really hard. It’s hard to change the stereotypes, we have to teach people how to change the world.

    2. On the page NIOT I watched a video about color discrimination, “STOP and FRISK”. I agree with the people what are marching, because in the U.S. we have freedom.

  13. What do I say?

If we learn how to look beyond what a person looks like we can see that there is far more beyond their appearance and learn how to respect somebody for their distinctions. For many reasons our society is accustomed to judge people and automatically, from the time they see someone, to fit them in a specific stereotype or group. I think when we learn to be more open minded and don't pay attention to labels we can all make our society better and more inclusive place.

In the Not in Our Town website I watched a video about a football team who helped in the Not in Our Town campaign by pledging to stand up against bullying. I think that is a good example of how everybody should be involved in order for a change to take really take place within community.

1.How can we really break down the stereotypes that divide us? What do you say?"

We think we have to break down the stereotypes as possible as we can by our greatest energy.Because stereotype formed for a long time, we can not change it immediately, so we can do it step by step. Moreover, we think environment can affect stereotypes, peer pressure, and self-esteem, these all can affect us to form stereotype. We think to use our own energy to created a new environment for them to break down stereotypes, and they have to adapt that environment where we created.

    2. In this video, it shows us a story about bullying. when we first came to this country, we saw one person did not know how to speak English in the school and some bad students were bullying him, just because he did not know how to speak English, then teased him as fun. And he felt very helpless and sad. At that time, we did not know what kind of feeling in our heart, really sad, really angry. So, we do not want to see this kind of bullying happen around us, it is really bad and not respect.
